Look out Leaf Peepers – I’m headed to Vermont! I can’t think of a better way to start the Fall season than to join my friends at King Arthur Baking Education Center in Norwich on September 27 – 28.

I’ll be teaching a hands-on class all about puff pastry – how to make it, along with some fun pastries to create with it. I’ll show you a few methods for making the dough (easy, easier, and easiest) and take all the fear out the process (yes, really!). Once you understand the key factors, you will consistently make beautiful dough. Together, we’ll make a variety of fillings to create some delicious, classic pastries – Jalousies filled with fruit and almond cream, Conversation Tarts with fresh berries, Savory Pithivier, Chaussons filled with local apples, and more.

King Arthur Baking Education Center is located in a beautiful new building. It shares the space with the retail shop, bakery, and cafe. You can watch the bakers at work through a continuous series of windows. The aromas are unbelievable! The Baking Education Center has state-of-the-art classrooms that create the perfect environment for learning.

If you can’t make it this weekend, be sure to check out King Arthur’s website for a listing of all classes. Heads up – the classes fill up fast! Look for me again in December for a Chocolate Desserts class – just in time for the holidays.
